Title: Workday Report Analyst
Band: UKRI Band E (UKRI Ts & Cs)
Salary: £45,272 gross per annum
Reports to: Workday Product manager
Location: Swindon (Hybrid working)
Contract: Fixed Term (12 Months)

Job Purpose:
The Workday Team at InnovateUK supports our HR and Finance functions through the effective delivery of Workday solutions. We are now seeking a Workday Reporting Analyst with deep expertise in Workday reporting and analytics. This role is critical to enabling data-driven decision-making by designing, building, and optimizing insightful reports and dashboards in Workday.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering reporting requirements from stakeholders, designing fit-for-purpose reports, developing dashboards, and ensuring Workday's reporting functionality is leveraged to its fullest potential. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong Workday reporting experience across HCM and/or Finance modules.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Reporting Strategy & Delivery
- Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of custom Workday reports and dashboards, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs and strategic goals.
- Gather and validate reporting and analytics requirements from HR, Finance, and other business units.
- Create advanced reports (including matrix, composite, and trending reports), dashboards, and scorecards in Workday.
- Optimize existing reports for performance, accuracy, and usability.
- Apply best practices in data visualization to ensure clarity and accessibility of information.
- System & Data Analysis
- Conduct gap analysis and data audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of information across modules.
- Collaborate with data owners and stakeholders to interpret requirements and advise on Workday reporting capabilities.
- Support the translation of business problems into data-driven solutions through the Workday reporting ecosystem.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Support
- Act as the subject matter expert on Workday reporting for HR, Finance, and other stakeholders.
- Coach end users on self-service reporting capabilities.
- Create and maintain user guides, training materials, and documentation to support ongoing usage of reports and dashboards.
- Technical Contribution
- Utilize Workday tools such as Calculated Fields, EIBs, and Business Processes to support data capture and reporting.
- Perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting of reports and dashboards.
- Monitor the bi-annual Workday release cycle for reporting-related enhancements and manage their implementation.
- Continuous Improvement & Governance
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the Workday reporting landscape.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and internal audit requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Workday reporting features and best practices.

Person Specification:
Experience & Qualifications:
Essential –
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience (S&I)
- Workday certifications (at least 2) – must include Workday Reporting/Advanced Reporting ; others may include HCM, Financials, or Analytics (S&I)
Desirable –
- Business Analysis Qualification (e.g. BCS International Diploma)
- Prince2 or Agile qualifications
Essential Experience & Skills
- Advanced Workday reporting experience including: (S&I)
- Calculated Fields, Advanced, Matrix, and Composite Reports
- Dashboards, Scorecards, Trending Reports
- Workday Prism Analytics (if applicable)
- Strong experience working with stakeholders to translate business needs into reports (S&I)
- Proven ability to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful data analysis to support decision-making (S&I)
- Experience supporting at least 2 full Workday implementations or enhancement projects (S&I)
- Experience working in an operational/BAU Workday environment (S&I)
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data manipulation techniques (S&I)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail (S&I)
- Experience of coaching users on report usage and development (S&I)
Desirable Experience & Skills
- Familiarity with Workday Adaptive Planning and/or Workday Prism
- Understanding of Workday Security model as it relates to reporting
- Experience with EIBs, calculated fields, and integration-related data needs
- Knowledge of Agile and/or project delivery frameworks
- Data governance and audit process experience
