Overview
As a member of the Technical Advisory Team, you'll be a key leader and subject matter expert, responsible for defining the overarching technical strategy for complex system integrations. You will guide the end-to-end deployment of technical integrations between a customer's Workday system and their broader enterprise architecture. Leveraging Workday's enterprise-class ESB technology, you will be hands-on in the most complex integration builds and act as the primary advisor on technical architecture and best practices.
Responsibilities
Define the overarching technical strategy for complex system integrations and translate high-level business requirements into robust, scalable, and secure architectural decisions.
Lead end-to-end deployment of technical integrations between Workday and the customer’s enterprise architecture.
Hands-on work on the most complex integration builds using Workday ESB technology; serve as the lead technical point of contact on integration enterprise architecture.
Lead critical discussions around integration enterprise architecture, application security, and system authentication; influence key stakeholders to align technical vision with business goals.
Typically manage multiple, concurrent customer engagements and mentor other consultants.
Months 1–6: Strategic immersion and certification; months 6–24: leadership, mentorship, and innovation (see details below).
Role Focus and Growth
Your journey as a Technical Advisory Consultant / Solution Architect will focus on strategic leadership, advanced solution design, and mentorship. The initial months are about leveraging your expertise to assume a leadership role immediately.
Months 1–6: Strategic Immersion and Certification
Deepen Expertise: complete advanced Workday certifications focusing on complex integration capabilities and enterprise architecture.
Lead with Experience: immediately lead technical strategy and design on a major project; define integration architecture, set technical standards, and guide the overall solution from day one.
Architectural Blueprint: translate high-level business goals into a comprehensive technical architecture and mentor other consultants in developing prototypes and configurations that are scalable and secure.
Months 6–24: Leadership, Mentorship, and Innovation
Solution Ownership: take full ownership of technical solutions for multiple projects; act as primary technical advisor to clients and provide executive-level status on architecture and project risks.
Mentorship and Coaching: evolve into a leadership role; mentor junior and senior consultants; lead knowledge-sharing sessions and product update training.
Innovation and Growth: tackle challenging technical problems and design innovative solutions; contribute to long-term client success.
About You
This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, strategic leadership, and extensive experience in a consulting capacity. We seek a seasoned professional who can immediately add value in a senior advisory position.
Basic Qualifications
10+ years of experience delivering complex enterprise business application projects, with a significant focus on Workday Core products and technologies
5+ years in a senior technical leadership, architect, or advisory role
Advanced proficiency in enterprise integration patterns and technologies (SOAP, REST, XML, XSLT, Java, .NET, or similar); subject matter expert in at least one area
Extensive experience with back-end web development and web services, including API design and optimization
Fluent in English; knowledge of a second major European language (French, German, Spanish, Italian) is advantageous but not mandatory
Other Qualifications
Proven track record as a Senior Technical Advisory / Solution Architect or similar leadership position within a consulting or software organization
Deep expertise in integration patterns, data manipulation, and optimization techniques for system performance
Strategic problem-solver with a history of delivering results for high-profile clients
Exceptional communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desire to stay current with technologies, mentor others, and contribute to the firm’s intellectual capital
Highly resourceful and autonomous; capable of leading projects from discovery to deployment in varied work environments
