NTT DATA is currently looking for a z/OS Mainframe Systems Programmer with DevOps (remote + on client site in Sheffield) for our growing team in the UK.

Overview

An exciting opportunity has been created for an experienced z/OS Mainframe Systems Programmer with DevOps skills, to join an established and growing team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Performance monitoring using Omegamon, RMF, SMF and Splunk
• Involvement in performance related tasks and projects - WLM, PR/SM changes
• Upgrading, maintaining and supporting the z/OS operating system
• Upgrading, maintaining and supporting ISV products from vendors such as IBM and Broadcom

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:

• Extensive experience of mainframe systems programming
• Knowledge of iWS scheduling software
• Knowledge of SAS
• Desirable: knowledge of MXG and MICS
• Knowledge of z/OS, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, USS, SDSF, JCL, Rexx
• Experience with IBM and Broadcom products and ability to work independently
• Excellent problem determination skills and team player attitude
• Ability to provide off-hours support and be part of an on-call rota
• Strong goal-setting and achievement record
• Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences
• Ability to build effective networks and relationships
• Experience in creating and deploying business/operating plans
• Understanding of risk management and regulatory compliance

DevOps skillset (at least some of the following):

• Github, Ansible, Nexus, Hashicorp Vault, Zowe, z/OSMF, Python, APIs, Grafana, Splunk

Additional skills (not essential but desirable):

• Assembler, Automation, Job Scheduling, ACF2/RACF, GDPS, SAS, MXG
