This approach enables Hyphen to ideate, create and deliver experiences for the right people, in the right places, at the right moment in time. Utilising strategic insight in this way ensures our experiences are not only memorable and magical, they produce exactly the right results.

The Role
We are seeking an Account Director to lead one of our flagship accounts, a high-end automotive client, delivering bespoke, premium event solutions that demand exceptional attention to detail, flawless execution, and creative excellence. This is a pivotal leadership role, combining strategic client management, commercial growth, and hands-on project direction across complex event solutions.
In addition to this anchor account, the Account Director will also oversee a portfolio of smaller accounts across other sectors, ensuring consistent delivery, revenue growth, and trusted client relationships across the board. The Account Director will be the primary senior point of contact for their clients, responsible for nurturing trusted partnerships, steering long-term strategy, and ensuring our work consistently exceeds expectations. At the same time, they will direct and empower delivery teams, ensuring activations are executed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.
A core part of this role will be driving growth in both revenue and profitability – ensuring accounts are not only retained but expanded, while consistently delivering value for both client and agency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the lead partner for a flagship high-end automotive client, managing senior stakeholder relationships and delivering bespoke experiential solutions.
- Lead smaller accounts across diverse sectors, ensuring consistent standards of service, creativity, and commercial success.
- Develop client strategy, ensuring our work aligns with brand objectives and long-term business goals.
- Grow accounts by spotting opportunities for innovation and demonstrating measurable value.
Project Direction & Delivery
- Oversee the planning and execution of large, complex experiential campaigns and premium live events.
- Provide hands-on project leadership, ensuring flawless execution across creative, logistics, and production.
- Oversee creative requirements and be confident in briefing both 2D and 3D creative partners
- Lead cross-functional teams and external partners, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Mitigate risks, troubleshoot challenges, and maintain calm leadership in high-pressure environments.
- Take full ownership of project budgets, from scoping through to reconciliation.
- Drive growth in revenue and profitability across accounts, ensuring commercial health and sustainable success.
- Ensure profitability of accounts and projects while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Negotiate with suppliers and partners to achieve best value and maximise profit
- Line manage and mentor Account Managers and Executives, building a high-performing, motivated team.
- Lead by example, setting clear expectations and fostering a supportive and collaborative culture.
- Provide professional development opportunities, ensuring the team thrives and grows.
Key Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in a senior client services role within experiential, live events, or brand activations.
- Proven success in delivering large, complex projects end-to-end, ideally within automotive or other premium sectors, preferably including events such as Goodwood Festival of Speed and pop-up retail experiences
- Exceptional client relationship skills with the ability to influence and guide senior stakeholders.
- Strong project direction expertise – comfortable leading both strategic planning and operational execution.
- Commercially astute with experience in managing large budgets and driving revenue and profitability growth.
- Inspirational leader with experience managing, coaching, and developing teams.
- Calm under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-first mindset.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills including use of PowerPoint, Canva and excel.
- Hyphen is a small but perfectly formed team so this role is potentially more hands-on than most at this level so a true passion for the industry and experiential marketing is a must.
Remuneration
- Salary up to £60k (dependent on experience). Includes a robust benefits package:
- 26 days annual leave (increasing by 1 day per year up to 31 days).
- Private health care.
- Employer pension contribution.
- Flexible working culture with hybrid options.
- Supportive team environment.
