About the Client

Youll be joining a well-established accountancy practice in Exeter with a reputation for delivering high-quality services to a varied client base. The firm fosters a collaborative and supportive team environment, investing in staff development and encouraging career progression.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial reporting & compliance Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, bookkeeping, VAT submissions, and management reports.

  • Client relationship management Act as a trusted adviser, providing support on accounting queries and software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks).

  • Team mentoring Supervise and guide junior team members, reviewing work and supporting professional development.

  • Quality assurance Ensure compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS and current tax legislation, maintaining high standards in all deliverables.

  • Process improvement Identify and implement opportunities to enhance efficiency and client service.

About You:

  • AAT/ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified with a strong technical grounding.

  • Practice experience in accounts preparation, tax compliance, VAT, and bookkeeping.

  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS and current tax regulations.

  • Confident with accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) and good Excel skills (CCH advantageous).

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to clients.

  • Highly organised, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
