About the Role

The Assistant Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of Tindall Riley & Co. The role will involve maintaining accurate accounts and assisting in the preparation of financial information for board packs and year-end audits. Additionally, the role requires ownership of the entire finance process of our entity in Luxembourg and to be a key point of contact for our entities in Hong Kong and Denmark. This role requires collaboration within the finance team to deliver key financial reports and processes while managing individual responsibilities for specific accounting functions. The role will also support the team in its transformation project on key technological enhancements. This role will be based in London and report to the Head of Finance (TRC), working as part of a team of three within a broader finance department.

Your Responsibilities

  • Producing quarterly management accounts.
  • Completing quarter-end journal processing and reviewing key balance sheet accounts.
  • Budget data input and variance analysis.
  • Liaising with external and internal auditors to provide required information.
  • Help drive technological enhancements in the finance process, including the implementation and testing of new systems.

Individual Responsibilities

  • Processing and reconciling SAP Concur transactions (credit cards and payroll reimbursements).
  • Balance sheet reconciliations of key debtors and creditors accounts.
  • Maintaining the prepayments and accruals schedules.
  • P&L variance analysis.
  • Maintaining intercompany control accounts and managing cross-charging.
  • Processing month-end tasks, bank reconciliations and Oracle postings.
  • Preparing and executing bank payments.
  • Accounts payable - maintaining the purchase ledger and processing purchase invoices.
  • Conducting professional fees analysis.
  • Managing and maintaining loan accounts (e.g., season tickets, cycle-to-work schemes, salary advances).
  • Ownership of our Luxembourg entity, which includes validating invoices on the system, executing bank payments, quarterly management accounting, monthly VAT returns and liaising with external auditors.
  • Supporting and consolidating our subsidiaries in Hong Kong and Denmark.

About You Knowledge/Experience

  • At least 2 years experience in an Assistant Accountant role.
  • Proven expertise in conducting balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Experience working with overseas subsidiaries.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with accounting software, ideally Oracle (desirable).

Qualifications/Education

  • Formal study or qualification in Accounting or Finance (minimum AAT Level 3) or a Finance degree.
