The Assistant Director of Logistics will assist the Director in providing professional leadership and support to the Procurement Services team within NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership. They will play a fundamental role in contributing to the development of strategic direction, long term planning and service delivery.Main duties of the jobResponsible for providing the leadership, strategic direction and management of a range of Logistics Services functions, staff and other resources within the Division whilst influencing and managing the challenges of contributing to securing value for money across the NHS Wales organisations' non-pay budgets. The contribution of the Logistics Service to the delivery of cash releasing savings for NHS Wales Health Boards/Trusts/Organisations will be critical to the success of this role.Modernisation of the Logistics Services function drawing upon best practice from across the wider public and commercial sector to develop people, processes, infrastructure and culture within the service while recognising and working within the financial constraints of NHS Wales.Provide technical advice and direction on Logistics and applicable Welsh and UK legislation across the whole of NHS Wales.
