The Oakdale Group offers a range of specialist assessments, including autism, ADHD, developmental trauma, and attachment. We also provide psychological therapies for children, young people, and adults. Many services are commissioned by the NHS, Local Authorities, and schools, including services for NHS staff. Our services are accessible to the public through private payments, medical insurance, or our charitable arm.
We have clinical centres in Harrogate, Leeds, and Halifax, and deliver services from other consulting rooms in the North of England and remotely across the country.
Our multidisciplinary teams receive excellent feedback from clients and commissioners. We value our clinical and administrative staff and prioritize the wellbeing of both clients and colleagues.
The role
The role involves conducting face-to-face neurodevelopmental assessments (autism and ADHD) for children and/or adults as part of a multidisciplinary team. The position can be based at our centres in Harrogate, Horsforth, Halifax, or remotely. We are interested in qualified health professionals seeking an Associate role.
The assessments may include:
- Parental/developmental interviews exploring developmental history related to autism, ADHD, and learning, including structured interviews, ADI-R, ACE, ACE+, or DIVA/Young DIVA assessments.
- Play-based assessments and developmental history collection for early years assessments.
- 1:1 play-based/activity sessions with clients.
- ADOS-2 assessments.
- QBCheck assessments.
- Cognitive assessments (e.g., WISC-V, WAIS-IV) for psychology applicants.
- School observations.
- Liaison with educational and other professionals.
- Additional psychometric assessments.
- Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Writing comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessment reports.
About you
- Excellent IT skills, including proficiency with G Suite.
- Experience with practice management systems for recording notes, booking, and managing appointments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work supportively with adults, families, and young people.
- Ability to clearly communicate assessment outcomes.
- Effective team communication skills.
- Experience conducting autism and/or ADHD assessments in children and young people.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary assessment teams.
Qualifications
- HCPC registration and/or professional qualification in nursing, speech and language therapy, or occupational therapy.
- Experience conducting developmental history interviews.
- Experience performing neurodevelopmental assessments (autism and/or ADHD).
- ADI-R training completion.
