Specialist Accountancy Practice recruitment consultancy, Clark Wood, are delighted to be working with a Top 20 firm of Chartered Accountants in Manchester as they look to grow their team through the addition of an Audit & Accounts Senior.

Known for providing a fantastic platform for development, this prestigious and forward-thinking firm are looking for an ambitious and experienced individual to undertake a varied role.

As an Audit & Accounts Senior you’ll be responsible for leading audit assignments from planning to completion, preparing and reviewing year-end financial statements, and corporate tax returns.

You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of clients including group structured businesses and stand-alone limited companies and will also be responsible for supervising and assisting junior team members.

Based out of the Manchester office, you’ll find yourself thriving within a collaborative and supportive working environment where you’ll have ample scope for continued development.

The ideal person for the role will be ACA / ACCA Qualified, or at the latter stages of their studies, and will have excellent experience of working in a varied general practice position.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion for a variety of clients across different sectors.
  • Preparing financial statements and management accounts.
  • Reviewing and finalising accounts prepared by junior staff.
  • Conducting risk assessments and ensuring audit plans are designed to address identified risks.
  • Providing technical advice and guidance on accounting and audit matters.
  • Ensuring compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Liaising with clients to resolve queries and provide ongoing support.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members, including on-the-job training and performance reviews.
  • Reporting directly to Partners and Managers on audit progress and findings.

Skills:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in audit and accounting within a practice environment.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience of leading audit assignments is essential.
