Backup Infrastructure Engineer - Hybrid | Glasgow City Centre

What You'll Be Doing

• Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Designing, deploying, and integrating enterprise-grade backup platforms—ideally NetBackup or similar
• Leading infrastructure build and migration projects with a strong focus on data protection
• Collaborating globally to meet customer needs and ensure service excellence
• Advising on technical solutions, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving continuous improvement

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience with backup/data protection platforms — NetBackup, Cohesity, Veeam, or similar
• Strong grasp of on-premise infrastructure: storage, networking, operating systems
• Expertise in disaster recovery planning and execution
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Clear communication and customer-facing abilities
• A proactive mindset and team-oriented approach

Bonus Skills (Not Required, But Nice to Have)

• Experience with scripting or infrastructure automation
• UNIX/Windows Server administration
• Familiarity with SAN, NAS, or S3 storage
• Exposure to Kubernetes/OpenShift
• Cloud computing knowledge (Azure, AWS)
• Project management experience
• Security hardening and vulnerability detection
