Job Description

Aukera Energy now has a ready-to-build or advanced pipeline of over 4 GW of BESS across five of Europe\'s most attractive markets, and is seeking to expand its team addressing all technical aspects of the lifecycle of BESS, from greenfield development to operations.

Job Location

This role can be based in London, Rome, Berlin, or Bucharest. We are flexible on the location, as long as the candidate is based with the team in one of our offices for at least 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and evolve internal knowledge base of equipment supply and design options for BESS projects.
  • Monitor the development and launch of new BESS products and technologies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with design/engineering counterparties at BESS equipment suppliers including batteries, inverters, MV transformers, switchgear, control systems and HV equipment.
  • Assist the development teams with site/project evaluation and by providing feasible and efficient layouts of projects that will be built, considering planning and space constraints/requirements and constructability.
  • Assist with the completion of contracts, particularly technical appendices to contracts.
  • Oversee detailed design/engineering programmes and deliverables with consultants and sub-contractors; ensure scope is completed as planned.
  • Review and contribute to the approval of design packages for construction.
  • Manage technical query coordination with suppliers, sub-contractors and consultants at the design, selection, financing and project delivery stages.
  • Assist in the negotiation of warranties and other supply terms of a technical nature.
  • Implement detailed project plans, keeping track of risks, goals, tasks, resources, schedules, costs, and contingencies.
  • Proactively mitigate risks and resolve issues with consultants/subcontractors/suppliers during project development and construction.
  • Assist in the coordination of the technical commissioning process of projects and identify solutions to problems encountered.
  • Prepare regular progress reports for projects including status of risks and any deviations from the scope.
  • Prepare efficient designs for solar/BESS co-location.
  • Assist in design and cost optimization taking into account all EPC cost categories.

Experience & Qualifications

  • BSc/BEng/Meng/MSc in electrical, mechanical, or other engineering discipline from a leading university.
  • 5 years in an engineering role in Energy – ideally Storage and renewables.
  • Proven track record (minimum 5 years) in the technical design/specification or assessment/evaluation of energy projects and the evaluation and selection of equipment suppliers (preference for energy storage and renewables).
  • Knowledge of contract details, warranties, infrastructure; understanding how equipment works and interfaces with commercial contracts.
  • Based in any Aukera office; energy consultancy experience is fine.
  • Experience in HV equipment components is an advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience of key supply terms in commercial contracts.
  • Working knowledge of project management and engineering design software; experience working with internal stakeholders and manufacturers.
