Are you a dedicated Bid Manager looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic organization? At Tarmac, we are seeking a Bid Manager to join our team.

About The Role

Reporting to the General Manager for Contracting, the successful Bid Manager will develop the National Road Planning commercial strategy, supporting effective delivery of business plans and objectives. You will identify and secure strategic commercial opportunities to meet budgeted volumes, margin expectations, and growth targets, ensuring high-quality, timely tenders.

Location flexibility is available; you will be expected to work at our Market Rasen site in Lincolnshire a few days per week, with the rest of the time visiting other Tarmac sites mainly around the Midlands. A company car will be provided.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead in identifying and securing a pipeline of commercial opportunities for long-term work
• Contribute to developing and delivering the business unit’s commercial strategy
• Ensure competitive tenders are submitted, targeted contracts are won, considering capacity, margins, and risks
• Conduct pre-contract reviews with operations and QS teams to identify opportunities and risks
• Manage tender documentation and submissions, including external consultancy resources
• Promote the use of sustainable internal materials
• Develop and maintain beneficial relationships with customers and clients to expand market share

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience in a commercial role with understanding of contractual documentation
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Negotiation skills
• Experience with pre-qualification questionnaires and tender quality submissions
