Established in 1977, Longulf specialises in supplying Food and Packaging Raw Materials and Machinery to meet the needs of manufacturing companies in Middle East, Africa & U.K. With a global network of regional offices, we provide services for all aspects of international trading, including marketing, logistics, finance and after sales support. Our purpose to provide dependable, responsive, and innovative sources for materials and resources that are essential for our customers’ success. For suppliers, to offer a secure and valuable channel into alternative markets and place goods advantageously with competitive pricing.

Requirements

  • Min 10 years of international trading experience in export markets.
  • Product knowledge of packaging raw materials (either Plastics / Paper / Steel / Aluminium)
  • Team player and able to build relationship with colleagues from different nationalities (both UK and overseas)
  • International travel experience preferably in MENA region
  • Good knowledge of shipping, incoterms and Microsoft office
  • Proactive attitude and willing to learn and develop new markets
  • Willing to travel frequently to visit supplies / customers / trade exhibitions in Asia, Middle East, Africa and Europe.
  • proven track record of managing a business of circa GBP 25M

Key tasks

  • Drive the existing business and develop new customers and products.
  • Cooperate and liaise with customers and suppliers worldwide.
  • Travel frequently to meet regional offices, suppliers, and customers,
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets in line with the company strategy and defined KPI's and agreed annual budget.
  • Identify potential within new and existing customers and devise strategies with a view to growing the Departments turnover in line with the business’ growth plans.
  • Deliver a high level of customer satisfaction through value-added sales techniques concentrating on a multitude of market sectors.
  • Work closely with local colleagues as well as the regional offices to achieve designated growth targets.
  • Monthly reporting on sales and marketing activity to the line manager and other stakeholders.
  • Learn to use SAP and contribute to our database and other management information systems.
  • Where appropriate help to build human resource team, to grow the business.
  • Devise and deliver technical and commercial product presentations to a wide range of stakeholders.

Team management

  • Provide clear direction, support, and guidance to team members to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture by identifying training needs, mentoring staff, and facilitating professional development opportunities.
  • Set performance expectations, conduct regular evaluations, and manage performance through coaching, feedback, and formal reviews.
  • Address interpersonal or professional conflicts promptly and constructively, ensuring alignment with company policies and values.
  • Participate in the recruitment process, onboarding new hires, and ensuring a smooth integration into the team.
