Business Development Manager
Liverpool
Monday-Friday, 35 hours per week
The role:
Love2shop are hiring for a Business Development Manager to join a friendly team in our Liverpool office. The successful candidate will drive significant proactive new business growth for Love2shop Business across both reward and platform propositions, using a proactive sales approach to build and progress a new business pipeline by engaging with prospective clients to deliver and exceed annual targets.
Our contracted working hours are 35 hours per week Monday to Friday, with some flexibility around start and finish times.
3 days per week in our vibrant Liverpool city centre head office, 2 days working from home.
The successful candidate must hold a full UK Driving Licence and have flexibility to meet clients face to face.
Main responsibilities:
Deliver sales to achieve target:
- Execute a sales plan for new business that delivers and exceeds sales and contribution targets
- Personally undertake a programme of proactive activity that builds and progresses a new business pipeline, with focus on pipeline progression, conversion rates and average Client value
- Proactively generate leads at the top of the sales funnel, and manage the sales funnel to maximise conversion rates, client value and inform effectiveness of leads
- Lead prospecting and pipeline development for identified prospective prospects and agreed industry sectors
- Focus on key new business initiatives
- Drive the development and progression of a sales pipeline including maintaining CRM records, and maintaining reporting on leads, activity, pipeline and sales performance
- Commercial lead on responses for allocated new business PQQs, RFIs, RFPs, bids and tenders
- Sell the full portfolio of Love2shop Business reward and platform products
- Establish relationships with prospective customers & secure contracts at senior level
- Identify business challenges faced by prospective Clients and propose appropriate solutions/products to fit their needs
- Work with Marketing to help devise and deliver proposals/presentations and to discuss lead generation campaigns
- Manage from end-to-end Client contract negotiations/set up/ completion ensuring its legal compliance
- Report to line manager on sales activity & build new business pipeline for all opportunities
Team and Culture:
- Provide regular feedback to both Marketing and Product team/content/insight on industry sectors and knowledge
Finance and Administration:
- Maintain awareness of product margins to enable commercially correct quotations and proposals
- Ensure all contracts issued are by standard or reviewed by Legal
People:
- Coach and mentor junior team as appropriate to improve performance
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Love2shop Business and the broader Group
- Continuous review of current market trends and competitor activity
- Raise and resolve issues/complaints within agree SLA any issues that may arise, and ensure that any compliance complaints are raised
- Drive a risk management culture through the Division by adhering to appropriate risk control procedures and policies; especially regarding platforms, and compliance with GDPR
To succeed you’ll have:
- 5+ years delivering and exceeding B2B sales targets
- Strong proactive selling skills and a proven track record of achieving profitable sales results through new business sales
- Highly driven self-starter, but also possessing the ability to work as part of a team
- First class communicator and presenter with the ability to communicate & present at a senior level
- Experience delivering creative & comprehensive proposals
- Experience with PQQs, RFIs, RFPs and tenders
- Experience managing a pipeline & keeping CRM up to date
- Full UK Driving Licence
- 3+ years’ experience in the rewards, recognition and incentives market
- 3+ years knowledge & experience of selling or developing SaaS Platform Solutions to business clients
- Working knowledge of Salesforce
