Overview
The Category Manager is responsible for developing and executing the long-term strategy for the Refrigeration category. This includes managing product launches, driving category performance, and ensuring alignment across sales, marketing, and product teams to meet commercial objectives. The role shapes go-to-market plans, analyses market trends, and supports cross-functional collaboration to maximise growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Category & Product Strategy
- Lead GTM strategy, product launches, and lifecycle planning for Refrigeration.
- Own the UK product roadmap with UK/HQ Product Managers.
- Use market and consumer insights to drive product selection, planning, and performance reviews.
- Support HQ with impactful launch messaging.
- Lead category and channel reviews, supporting sales teams in range reviews and customer meetings.
- Manage pricing strategy and maintain competitive market positioning.
- Plan, execute, and evaluate market-wide campaigns.
- Marketing & Brand Execution
- Oversee the category’s online and in-store presence, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and strong communication of product USPs.
- Develop high-quality branded displays, POS, and A+ content with marketing teams.
- Support brand awareness campaigns and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
- Reporting & Insights
- Manage GfK reporting, dashboards, and campaign ROI tracking with BI and HQ teams.
- Provide updates, presentations, and reports for HQ as required.
- Manage and mentor the Product and Consumer Marketing Manager.
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Marketing, and HQ teams to achieve category goals.
- Monitor stock levels and manage surplus inventory.
Requirements
- Experience in the Refrigeration category is required; buyers and account managers will be considered.
- Strong relationship-building skills across internal teams and external partners.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Proven track record of delivering against sales and profitability targets.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ideally 2 days per week on-site in our Leeds office.
