Client Account Manager

New Today

Overview

We are looking for 2 Client Account Managers (CAMs) to support our ambitious growth in UK&I Water. One CAM will support Anglian Water & Severn Trent, and the other will support Wessex and South West Water. A CAM is a pivotal role responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships, aligning our services with client priorities, and helping shape how our clients come to market. CAMs are assigned to opportunities with significant growth prospects and will have a proven track record in managing client accounts, driving business development, and delivering exceptional service in the water sector.

The AECOM Water team has a strong market presence across the UK and Ireland, with relationships across major clients. We anticipate major water sector opportunities in the coming years and seek a suitably senior CAM to deepen client relationships and position us for future procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Trusted Partner: Develop deep understanding of the client, the regulatory environment, and future business direction. Maintain and expand trusted relationships across key stakeholders and directorates.
  • Expertise: Ensure we bring the full breadth of AECOM capabilities to the client, understand our offerings, and identify areas to adapt or strengthen to meet future requirements.
  • Growth: Oversee end-to-end pursuit delivery, including positioning, win planning, bid delivery, and creating a compelling client offer that is deliverable and sets up successful handover to delivery teams.
  • Collaborate: Liaise with internal teams to assess resource availability and assemble delivery teams that maximise win potential.

Required expertise

  • Developing, maintaining, and implementing an account strategy aimed at positioning for future work, including partnering strategies and relationships.
  • Developing and implementing a sales strategy aligned with internal processes to win new, large, complex, or high-impact work.
  • Leading end-to-end delivery of a major pursuit, including long-term positioning, procurement leadership, bid budgeting, technical/quality proposal development, pricing and commercial strategy, and terms and conditions.
  • Preparing and conducting regular account reviews with business leaders to promote transparency and alignment on goals and performance, including intelligence gathering and engagement planning.
  • Staying up to date on industry developments to provide relevant insight to wider teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the water sector or another relevant sector.
  • Experience in client account management and business development, with a track record of driving growth through effective client management and service delivery.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong proposal development and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyse performance metrics and implement continuous improvement strategies.
