The Opportunity

You will be responsible for creating enterprise-quality AI, ML, and Data Science based solutions. You will be involved in technology selection, API design, and establishing core patterns within our products and client projects. You will consider functional and non-functional requirements to inform these decisions and lead our development team in implementing them. You will work with our world-class Data Science and Data Engineering teams to provide robust, high-quality, performant cloud-based solutions for our customers. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to development, review code, and drive improvements to our development practices and processes. You will interact with clients and business stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences, and help translate customer needs into architecturally sound solutions. You are expected to stay current with evolving AI technologies, bring new ideas to projects, and assess ideas from the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Creating enterprise-quality solutions with experience in fitting enterprise software into a wider technical landscape
• Developing serverless solutions to run data science and ML models
• Creating cloud infrastructure as code deployment code
• Guiding a cross-disciplinary team of Optimisers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Cloud Engineers and QA Engineers
• Understanding and relating customer and business needs to technical solutions
• Liaising with customers, product owners and business analysts to ensure work is correct and architecturally sound
• Making technology and approach choices to meet non-functional requirements while delivering value

What We Want From You

• Excellent understanding of Java, Typescript and/or Python, as core cloud languages
• Industry experience with an Infrastructure-as-Code platform (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform)
• Strong understanding of serverless development and containerisation for cloud deployments
• In-depth knowledge of at least one cloud platform (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and appropriate technologies for use cases
• Experience writing enterprise-quality solutions and understanding how enterprise software fits in a wider technical landscape
• Solid understanding of traditional design patterns and ability to adapt them to AI
• Commitment to rigorous quality processes, automated testing and IaC principles
• Excellent written, spoken and diagrammatic communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience creating robust CI/CD pipelines that fully automate testing and release processes
