Join to apply for the Commercial Lawyer role at Eversheds Sutherland.

Location: Manchester. Type of Vacancy: 12 month fixed term contract. Department: Konexo.

Role

Working as a virtual in-house lawyer you will be dedicated to meeting clients’ legal needs and fully contribute to the growth of Konexo Legal Services. You will deliver the work that was previously done in-house, working closely day to day with our clients’ businesses and feel part of the clients in house teams but with the full support of a global firm. We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes professional growth and client satisfaction.

Within the team we employ professional lawyers, managers, operational process experts, paralegals and technology experts - combining together in highly effective structures, working with advanced technology.

Key responsibilities

  • Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including purchase of goods and services, SaaS, professional services and outsourcing agreements.
  • Advisory Services: Provide high quality strategic legal advice on commercial transactions, and compliance matters while mitigating commercial and legal risk.
  • Client Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business objectives and delivering tailored legal solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members and departments within the firm to deliver integrated legal services and provide support in the design of effective legal solutions for one or more of our clients.
  • Supervision: Supervising more junior lawyers and paralegals and contributing to their growth and development.
  • Continuous Improvement: Work with our clients to deliver legal work more efficiently, including through the use of legal technology.

Skills and experience

We’d love to hear from candidates who are admitted to practice in England and Wales with 5 years or more PQE. You will have commercial contracts experience either in-house or in private practice.

  • Commercial Expertise: Solid understanding of commercial law and experience handling a variety of commercial transactions. Experience of working in the financial services sector is beneficial.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey legal concepts clearly and effectively. You will do this through excellent organisational skills, commercial acumen and the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and enthusiasm to learn.
  • Relationships: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels, both internally and externally. Comfortable working with all levels of seniority.
  • Technology Proficient: Proficiency with legal technology and ability to adapt to new tools and systems.
  • Ways of working: Collaborative and supportive team member, with a willingness and proactiveness to contribute to the growth of Konexo. Ability to work individually and use own initiative, demonstrating our values daily.
  • Flexibility: Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage changing priorities and deadlines.
