Overview

We are working with a Local Authority based in the West Midlands. They are looking for a locum Commercial Property Lawyer to join the team on an initial 3-month contract. The position is due to start immediately and the hourly rate is circa £45 per hour, via an Umbrella company, subject to PQE. The role ideally requires one day per week in the office, and previous Local Government experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Handling a range of property law matters, including leases, licenses and sales and purchases of land, landlord and tenant matters, and disposals and acquisitions
• Supporting development projects including drafting and completing conditional agreements for lease
• Providing detailed advice in all areas of freehold and leasehold property law and carrying out research when necessary
• Dealing with leases for educational properties, including transfers to academies and long-term leases

Experience and qualifications

• Commercial Property Law
• Relevant Professional Qualification – Solicitor, Barrister, FCILEX

Working hours

• 35 hours per week
• Monday – Friday
