The role
Do you have experience engaging communities and stakeholders in regeneration projects? If so, we invite you to apply for our Community Engagement Manager role within our Regeneration Directorate. In this position, you'll develop and deliver engagement strategies for a range of schemes, from major multi-phase projects in Hastings to smaller, ongoing developments in London and the South East. We're seeking a strategic and operational leader with strong relationship-building skills to work closely with residents, councillors, and other stakeholders, ensuring positive engagement and risk mitigation throughout each project.
You can be based at one of our main offices in either Farringdon, Croydon, Hastings, or Sittingbourne, with the option for hybrid working when appropriate and as agreed with your manager.
What you'll need
- A proven track record of delivering community and stakeholder engagement on regeneration projects of varying size and complexity.
- Experience of working directly with the public and local communities, ideally in a regeneration capacity.
- A strong understanding of the development process from inception to handover and the role of local communities and wider stakeholders in regeneration.
- Experience building relationships with local authority housing and enabling teams, as well as local ward Councillors and Cabinet members.
- Well-developed communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) with the ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including at senior levels.
- Flexibility, collaboration, and a team-oriented approach.
- A willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet customer and business needs.
In your supporting statement, please address how you meet the above criteria, providing examples.
