Overview

We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Compliance Specialist (Regulatory Relations & Advice) to join our Risk & Compliance team. The Compliance Specialist (Regulatory Relations & Advice) is responsible for supporting regulatory interactions and engagement, creating a Centre of Excellence model to be applied across the Group. The role includes actively managing and overseeing the control of Regulatory Horizon Scanning activities by working collaboratively across the wider Group Compliance and business stakeholders to assess regulatory developments impacting the firm. This role also supports key regulatory notifications, applications, ad hoc requests and regular reporting requirements, including deliverables under the FCA Senior Manager & Certification Regime (SMCR) and maintenance of Appointed Representatives on the FCA Register.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day compliance support to the business, answering regulatory or policy-related queries.
  • Assist in identifying, assessing, and tracking compliance risks and issues.
  • Participate in regulatory change reviews and assist in updating internal processes accordingly.
  • Support preparation for internal and external audits or regulatory inquiries.
  • Deliver or support compliance training and awareness activities.
  • Contribute to incident investigations and help ensure accurate and timely issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with other control functions (Risk, Legal, Audit, Data Privacy) to ensure coordinated compliance management.

Skills And Experience Required

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements to advise internal policy expectations.
  • Compliance in providing guidance in the interpretation of laws, regulations, and rules that impact the company’s operations.
  • Analytically minded, utilising compliance data, contributing to reporting and risk insights.
  • Previous experience of creating regulatory reporting data.
  • Understanding of application of FCA Handbook including ICOBS, SYSC, PRIN, Consumer Duty SMCR and COCON is essential.
  • Understanding of FCA Reporting requirements.
  • Previous background working in an insurance or a financial service regulatory environment.
