Overview

Compliance Specialist (Regulatory Interactions & Advice) – join our Risk & Compliance team at Domestic & General. Location: Flexible on location with visits to all offices as required. Salary: Competitive. Contract Type: Permanent.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day compliance support to the business, answering regulatory or policy-related queries.
  • Assist in identifying, assessing, and tracking compliance risks and issues.
  • Participate in regulatory change reviews and assist in updating internal processes accordingly.
  • Support preparation for internal and external audits or regulatory inquiries.
  • Deliver or support compliance training and awareness activities.
  • Contribute to incident investigations and help ensure accurate and timely issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with other control functions (Risk, Legal, Audit, Data Privacy) to ensure coordinated compliance management.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements to advise internal policy expectations.
  • Ability to provide guidance in interpreting laws, regulations, and rules that impact the company’s operations.
  • Analytically minded, able to utilise compliance data, contribute to reporting and risk insights.
  • Experience creating regulatory reporting data.
  • Understanding of FCA Handbook including ICOBS, SYSC, PRIN, Consumer Duty SMCR and COCON is essential.
  • Understanding of FCA reporting requirements.
  • Experience working in an insurance or financial service regulatory environment.
