OverviewBAM Construction Ltd are seeking applications for a Construction Director to be based in the London Region. This is an excellent career opportunity for an individual who wants to bring dynamism and creativity to our construction activities and help shape the future strategic direction of our business.Reporting to the Regional Director, and as a member of the Senior Management Team, you will lead a portfolio of projects, from pre-construction through to completion and aftercare.ResponsibilitiesTaking the lead in the bidding of tenders and subsequent negotiations, leading the pre-construction process and then overseeing successful delivery on site, followed by the aftercareManaging the construction teams to deliver quality projects within agreed budgets and programme timescales and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfactionBusiness development including the building and strengthening of relationships with key clients and consultants, to ensure a steady pipeline of workEngaging in effective project planning and management and co-ordination of design and construction activities at pre-construction stageManaging a multi-disciplinary team; providing leadership, direction and guidance, to help create a high performing teamLiaising with other BAM businesses; including FM, Design, Building Services, Site Solutions, Properties etc, to create synergies and offer added-value services to clients, whenever possible.Sharing all market information gleaned at project level with the region and the wider company when relevant.Developing relationships with clients, consultants and the supply chain with a view to building long-term and productive relationships.Being a visible leader on health and safety, constantly encouraging a culture of improvement and ensuring that health and safety is the overriding priority on all operations.Managing and co-ordinating staff requirements in line with the overall demands of the region's workloadWorking closely with the commercial discipline to ensure the commercial success of all projects and contributing to the commercial performance of the regionAdvocating and embedding BAM's values across all activities, driving the sustainability strategy and fostering a culture of inclusion and psychological safetyYour teamWorking across any of our London offices on a hybrid basisWhat's in it for you?Competitive salaryA wide range of family friendly policiesCar allowance8 % matched pension contributionsPrivate healthcareLife assurance26 days holiday2 wellbeing days1 volunteering dayPersonal and professional developmentWhat do you bring to the role?You will have demonstrable experience working at a senior level, have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively engage with clients and external consultants while building relationships internally and externallyYou will understand both private and public sector project procurement processes, and be comfortable working in a time critical, fast moving environment.Ability to manage a multi-disciplinary teamYou will be able to demonstrate effective and persuasive internal and external communication skillsAbility to multi-task and provide focus, direction and solutions where requiredAbout BAMBuilding a sustainable tomorrow.
