Are you ready to take the next step in your career with a firm that values flexibility, inclusivity, and purpose-driven legal work?
My client, a Legal 500 and Chambers-rated Construction & Engineering team, is expanding and looking for a Construction Disputes Associate to join them. This role can be based from their Birmingham office, with a hybrid working model — typically two days onsite and the rest from home.
Why Join Us?
- High-quality, meaningful work – Supporting clients in housing, local government, social business, and charity sectors.
- Diverse caseload – From JCT and NEC-based contracts to public sector procurement and PFI disputes (experience in these areas is a bonus, but not essential!).
- Exciting growth opportunities – A broad range of dispute instructions and a strong client base mean excellent career progression.
- Supportive, non-hierarchical team – Collaboration and innovation are central, ensuring you thrive professionally and personally.
- Genuine flexibility – We welcome hybrid, part-time, and flexible working arrangements.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Advising on and managing construction and engineering disputes.
- Handling matters from initial advisory work through to settlement and/or judgment.
- Representing clients in adjudication, mediation, and other ADR processes.
- Working across departments to provide joined-up legal services.
- Supporting clients with training and contract interpretation in plain, accessible language.
About You
- Qualified lawyer with solid experience in construction disputes.
- Passionate about working within our specialist sectors.
- Able to manage cases independently and collaborate on larger matters.
- Experience in ADR, including adjudication and mediation (desirable).
- Interested in knowledge-sharing and helping clients navigate contracting processes.
We Offer
- Hybrid working.
- A supportive team that values collaboration, growth, and creativity.
- 25 days holiday, plus 2 gift days at Christmas.
- 3 days available for social purpose volunteering.
- Onsite café and free access to the gym.
