OverviewConsultant Town Planner at AECOMLocation: Hybrid options across multiple UK offices (Basingstoke, Birmingham, Bristol, Chesterfield, Leeds, London Aldgate, Manchester, Nottingham or Plymouth). Join a market-leading infrastructure planning team delivering major projects in energy transition, rail and water sectors, as well as regional and local developments.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the management and delivery of major development applications, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams across various project types.Assist with project management and the application of quality and health and safety principles.Provide planning advice to colleagues and clients, including consenting routes and the application of permitted development rights; liaise with Environmental Impact Assessment teams.Carry out planning research and analysis; assist in identifying planning risk.Write Planning Statements and Design and Access Statements for development applications.Contribute to successful commercial tenders; participate in internal and external meetings.QualificationsProfessional Membership: Licentiate Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent, working toward full accreditation.Education & Knowledge: Sound knowledge of UK planning policy and legislation; understanding of Environmental Impact Assessment legislation.Experience: Demonstrable experience on major planning applications and/or Development Consent Orders; experience working in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams.Skills & Competencies: Commercial awareness; ability to write clearly and concisely; client-focused with strong interpersonal skills; collaborative working approach; ability to work to tight deadlines; ability to identify, evaluate and manage planning risk.About AECOMAECOM is the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, delivering services across the project lifecycle—from advisory and planning to design, engineering and construction management.
