Co-opted Finance and Governance Committee Member

Overview

Our Finance, Audit and Governance committee provides oversight of the charity's financial health on behalf of our Board. It reviews financial reporting, planning and income projections, and ensures we have the right controls to support good financial management and manage strategic risks.

Responsibilities

  • Support and participate in quarterly committee meetings (90 minutes, all virtual).
  • Review papers in advance to inform committee discussions and decisions.
  • Provide knowledge and experience in financial planning, accounting, risk and/or reporting to support governance and risk management.

Qualifications

  • Experience in financial planning, accounting, risk and/or reporting.
  • Awareness of the charity finance sector.
  • Interest in gaining experience in charity governance without the legal obligations of being a trustee.
  • Ability to contribute within a Board-driven governance framework and work with the Leadership team to advance women’s rights.

Commitment and Environment

The Committee meets quarterly for 90 minutes; all meetings are virtual, so you could be based anywhere in the UK. Committee members should set aside time in advance to review papers.
