RSM UK Nottingham, United Kingdom. Join the Counter Fraud Consultant/Senior Consultant role at RSM UK. This is a position with the NHS and private sector counter fraud work profiled within our Fraud Risk Services team.
Our consulting team delivers six core solutions: business transformation, forensic, deal services, restructuring, finance function support, and risk and governance. We provide data-driven insights, value-added assurance, and high-quality execution to help clients build sustainable, future-fit businesses. We are growing our consulting team and expanding our global presence while strengthening client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Undertaking Fraud and Bribery Risk Assessments – work with senior managers to understand controls, test effectiveness, identify missing/ineffective controls, and score residual risk.
- Policy reviews – review client policies where fraud or bribery risks exist; ensure appropriate controls are described to reduce offences and support disciplinary action where needed.
- Liaison with senior staff – report to Director of Finance or CFO; produce and present annual workplans, progress reports, and annual reports to the Audit Committee.
- Delivering training – prepare and present informative training sessions for client staff, from induction to targeted sessions for finance, HR, procurement, or Board updates.
- Undertaking proactive exercises – deep-dive analyses into identified fraud risk areas to test controls and strengthen procedures.
- Receipt of fraud referrals – handle complaints related to fraud, bribery or corruption; work with the organisation’s reporting channels to ensure clear lines of reporting.
- Receiving referrals of fraud/bribery or other offences, identifying estimated loss/gain, key lines of enquiry, and proportionality of investigations.
- Submitting information requests under Data Protection Act for evidence; liaising with witnesses to gather evidence/exhibits and taking witness statements.
- Undertaking interviews under caution and preparing case papers for the CPS; recognise when sanctions may be inappropriate and recommend internal/regulatory actions.
- Making recommendations to prevent recurrence; work with NHSCFA Financial Investigators to gain evidence and pursue financial enquiries.
What we are looking for
- Be able to pass enhanced security vetting (NPPV + SC) and DBS clearance.
- Excellent verbal communication; ability to convey complex, sensitive information to staff, clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent written communication; produce high-quality reports for varied audiences.
- Strong organisational skills; ability to manage a varied workload and ensure high-quality client service.
- Ability to work unsupervised, use initiative and exceed client expectations.
