The opportunity

This a fantastic opportunity for a talent individual looking to join our established Finance team on a fixed-term basis for 12 months, working in our Bath office. The role will require the post holder to provide support to all departments in control and management of Aged Debt. That will involve working closely with business partners and lawyers to resolve queries preventing payments.

The role primarily involves assisting the solicitors and wider team with administration support duties. Previous experience in a similar to this role is desirable, however training on our systems and processes will be provided during a supportive and robust induction process. The successful candidate would need to be able to establish working relationships with solicitors and clients and have a methodical approach to ensure all relevant debts are chased and bills raised in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Review daily Credit Control report and plan days work
  • Update 3E system with all relevant notes following client interaction
  • Debt reviews with Working Capital Manager — flag any concerns to WCM
  • Regular review meetings with FE’s to discuss issues/resolutions
  • Assist with cash flow by reaching & exceeding monthly team targets
  • Establish strong working relationships with all matter partners through regular review meetings
  • Undertake ad hoc responsibilities and projects as required by the Working Capital Manager or Finance Director

Qualifications

  • Previous credit controller experience
  • IT proficient specifically in Word and Excel spreadsheets
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal
  • Good interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism in all dealings
  • Able to prioritise and multi-task particularly when working to tight deadlines
  • A self-starter, able to demonstrate high levels of initiative and motivation, but also work closely with other team members
  • Confident in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and general familiarity with IT systems
  • Good attention to detail
  • The flexibility to work outside normal office hours as may be required from time-to-time
