LOCATION: London, Birmingham, Leeds or Edinburgh

HOURS: Full-time

About the team

FI Credit is a fun and exciting place to work. We are a friendly bunch, very curious, and we love asking lots of questions. We like to challenge existing ways of working and are always looking for ways to simplify and automate things, so we can focus on what matters. We collaborate closely with Coverage and Product teams and see ourselves as business enablers. We are passionate about risk management, and we seek to support our business partners to build a sustainable business with strong and long-term client relationships.

About this Opportunity

As a Credit Officer in FI Credit - Insurance, you will have a primary focus in the Insurance (Brokers, Life insurance, Non-life insurance, Lloyd's of London) and initially you'll undertake credit analysis and make recommendations on lending, trading limits and internal ratings for clients.

In time we aim that you'll be empowered to make important decisions with a delegated credit authority and ultimately, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate on other FI portfolios.

Here's where you'll make a difference

  • Run your own portfolio and use your insight to incorporate a forward view of horizon risks in your credit papers and discussions with partners.
  • Proactively contribute to sector strategy and appetite, credit policies and processes for your own and the wider sector portfolio.
  • Build positive relationships to become a trusted business partner for our well-regarded Coverage and Product colleagues and help drive collegiate working across FI Credit.
  • Take ownership of data integrity and championing simplification initiatives.

What you'll need

  • A sound understanding of the credit risk assessment.
  • Robust understanding of Insurance firms and banking products they use.
  • Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn - able to quickly up-skill in relation to new products, sectors and changes in the external environment.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills - able to present complexity in an understandable way.
  • Comfortable with numerical analysis.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • An annual performance-related bonus
  • Share schemes including free shares
  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
  • 30 Days' holiday, with bank holidays on top
  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies

Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity or culture.

If you'd like reasonable adjustments to our recruitment process, just let us know. This is a once in a career opportunity to help shape your future as well as ours.
