Credit Officer - FI Credit, Insurance at Lloyds Banking Group

Locations: London, Birmingham, Leeds or Edinburgh. Hours: Full-time. Hybrid working: spend at least two days per week on site.

An exciting Credit Officer opportunity has arisen to join our Insurance team and undertake credit analysis and make recommendations on lending, trading limits and internal ratings for clients.

FI Credit is a dynamic group focused on risk management, collaboration with Coverage and Product teams, and building sustainable client relationships. We explore ways to simplify and automate processes to enable the business to focus on what matters.

About this Opportunity

As a Credit Officer in FI Credit - Insurance, your primary focus will be on Insurance clients (Brokers, Life insurance, Non-life insurance, Lloyd's of London). Initially you will undertake credit analysis and make recommendations on lending, trading limits and internal ratings for clients. Over time you may be empowered to make important decisions with delegated credit authority and will have opportunities to collaborate on other FI portfolios.

Here's where you'll make a difference

  • Run your own portfolio and incorporate a forward view of horizon risks in credit papers and discussions with partners.
  • Proactively contribute to sector strategy and appetite, credit policies and processes for your portfolio and the wider sector.
  • Build positive relationships to become a trusted business partner for Coverage and Product colleagues and help drive collaborative working across FI Credit.
  • Take ownership of data integrity and champion simplification initiatives.

What you'll need

  • A sound understanding of credit risk assessment
  • Robust understanding of Insurance firms and the banking products they use
  • Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn and quickly up-skill in relation to new products, sectors and changes in the external environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills — able to present complexity in an understandable way
  • Comfortable with numerical analysis
