Data Governance Lead, London (Hybrid/Flexible), Outside IR35 £500-575 per day, initial 6-month contract.

Outside IR35 contractor required at fast-paced hospitality/retail company for a Data Governance lead to design and implement a robust data governance framework.

Role

Lead the design and delivery of a data governance framework, including ownership, standards, quality processes, and stewardship across business and IT. Embed governance into daily workflows through training and change management. Collaborate with Operations, IT, and Data Engineering to monitor and improve data quality. Implement and maintain a data catalogue and ensure regulatory compliance (GDPR).

You will need to bring structure and process to how data is collected, managed, and shared. Key to this will be to ensure integrity, consistency, and accessibility across teams.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in a data governance/quality role.
• Worked in retail or hospitality type organisations that deliver at pace.
• Proven success delivering governance initiatives in complex organisations.
• Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, catalogues, lineage, and metadata tools.
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills.
• (Preferred) Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake + dbt), data modelling, ETL/ELT, and hospitality/retail sectors.
