This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining data integrations that support the seamless flow of data between systems, applications, and databases. It offers an opportunity to work on green field development across a multi-company organization.

Reporting to the Data Engineering Manager, the Data Integration Specialist will manage all aspects of data integration from demand planning through to handover into operational IT, with responsibility to support IT operations in occasional complex problems (3rd / 4th line).

Working hours: 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Hybrid basis: home-based with at least one office day per week.

This role is suited to someone with experience as a Data Engineer seeking a move into a rapidly growing, data-driven organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data integration requirements and deliver solutions that meet those needs.
  • Develop and implement efficient and scalable data integration processes to support business needs.
  • Analyse data from multiple systems to develop accurate data mappings and transformation rules.
  • Create and maintain documentation for data mappings, workflows, and transformation logic.
  • Work with system architects to ensure data integration solutions align with the organization's data architecture.
  • Optimize integrated systems for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Ensure seamless data flow between databases, CRMs, ERPs, and third-party applications.
  • Monitor data integration workflows to identify and resolve discrepancies or failures in real time.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues across data pipelines.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on data integration best practices.
  • Present data integration solutions to non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Automate routine data integration tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Implement data masking, encryption, and other security measures as needed to protect sensitive data during integration.

Requirements / Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in data integration, ETL/ELT development, or data management.
  • Strong proficiency with ETL/ELT tools and technologies (e.g., Talend, Informatica, Microsoft SSIS, Apache Nifi).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, Bash).
  • Experience with development and implementation of APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and data query languages (SQL, PL/SQL).
  • Understanding of data modelling, data warehousing, and data governance principles.
  • Experience with cloud data integration tools (e.g., AWS, Azure Data Factory, GCP).
  • Knowledge of data security standards and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
