Data Modeller/Architect

Be-IT are working with a well-known organization to recruit a Data Modeller / Architect on a full-time, permanent basis.
This role is based in Glasgow and can be worked via a hybrid model - twice a week in the office.
The role
To design, implement, and maintain conceptual, Logical and Physical data models that meet business data/process and technology requirements, by using designs and data strategies across a wide selection of platforms.
- Analysis and documentation of business requirements to translate them into data models aligned with organizational goals.
- Development and maintenance of data dictionaries and glossaries to define data elements and their usage.
- Analysis and monitoring of data usage patterns to identify opportunities for data optimization and improvement, in partnership with the Data Base Administrator.
- Strategic architecture definition and product selection.
- Production of logical designs in relevant subject area (technical, data, operational), showing for example: processes, objects, data flows, inputs, stored data and outputs. Identifying common components.
- Implementation of architectures and Identification, ownership and resolution of design related issues.
- Definition and documentation of data architectures standards, principles and strategies.
The ideal candidate should have:
- Solid experience in data modelling or data architecture.
- Proficiency with data modelling tools (e.g. Erwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner).
- Proficiency in database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL; Snowflake/Redshift; MongoDB/Cassandra where appropriate).
- Excellent SQL and scripting skills (advanced SQL, PL/SQL or T-SQL, plus Python or Shell for automation).
- Experience with data warehousing & ETL (Inmon/Kimball methodologies, tools such as Informatica).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS: S3, Redshift, Glue, Data Lake implementation).
