Overview
Job Title: Data Protection Officer
Location: Burntisland - Hybrid Working
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £230 day rate DOE
Job Type: Fixed-Term Contract
Duration: Until 31st October initially - possibility of extensions
Hours: Monday to Friday - Up to 40 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data protection policies aligned with GDPR, PECR, and other applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to embed compliant data practices.
- Lead training initiatives to promote a strong data protection culture organisation wide.
- Conduct audits and risk assessments, updating policies as regulations evolve.
- Manage data subject rights requests and oversee breach response processes.
- Serve as the main contact for regulatory bodies and privacy-related enquiries.
Requirements
- Proven track record in a Data Protection Officer role or similar position focused on data privacy and compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of UK GDPR, PECR, and other applicable data protection laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement data protection policies and procedures from the ground up.
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to engage, educate, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity or information security principles and how they align with data protection requirements.
