Overview
We are looking for an experienced Data Protection Officer (DPO) to lead on all aspects of data privacy, compliance, and information governance across the Sizewell C project. As DPO, you will act as the organisation's key advisor on data protection matters, ensuring compliance with UK GDPR and other applicable privacy legislation. You'll help embed a strong culture of data protection and ethical information handling across a large, complex, and multi-stakeholder infrastructure project.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of UK GDPR, DPA 2018, PECR, and related legislation.
- Proven experience in a Data Protection Officer or senior privacy compliance role.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence at all levels.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Relevant professional certification (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent).

Project
Following on from the success of the new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C (HPC), the Sizewell C Project (SZC) in Suffolk is the UK's next nuclear power new build project. The project has obtained planning approval and has started construction works. It has recently achieved Financial Investment Decision (FID) meaning that all the funding for the full lifespan of the project is now secured and in place guaranteeing the full delivery of this new nuclear power station. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.

Company Overview
Sizewell C Limited (Sizewell C) is nuclear site licensed company whose business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. Sizewell C was formerly under the majority ownership of the EDF Group but is currently majority owned by HM Government and operates as an independent company. EDF remains a key shareholder in Sizewell C and the business therefore maintains close links to EDF as a part of its ‘nuclear family’.
