Deputy Principal Educational PsychologistWe are seeking a Deputy Principal Educational Psychologist to lead our growing Educational Psychology Service (EPS) at Nottinghamshire County Council. This is a full‑time, permanent position based at Meadow House, Littleworth, NG18 2TA.About the roleAs Deputy Principal you will work closely with the Principal Educational Psychologist to deliver a range of statutory and specialist services, including support for children with SEND, children in care, and those at risk of exclusion. You will lead and develop the EPS, support senior leadership, and contribute to strategic projects across the local area.Key responsibilitiesProvide leadership, support and guidance to the educational psychology team.Make decisions and facilitate problem‑solving in complex situations.Apply psychological expertise to support inclusion of children in vulnerable situations.Deliver statutory duties, including psychological assessments, intervention planning and reporting.Lead on strategic projects within the Local Area SEND Partnership and other joint working.Provide regular supervision and promote professional development for staff.Qualifications and experienceGraduate with a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology or equivalent.Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an educational psychologist.Experience working in a multi‑agency environment and leading teams.Strong personal resilience and ability to make decisions in complex situations.Experience with SEND, care, and youth justice populations is desirable.What we offerRegular psychological supervision and a collaborative leadership team.Opportunity to shape and expand the EPS, delivering statutory and specialist services.Regular continuing professional development opportunities.Supportive and flexible working arrangements (hybrid mix of online and in‑person).Competitive salary within the Soulbury Senior & Principal Scale (range 6‑10 +3SPAs).Application processYour application will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
