Development Director – Kier Group

Join to apply for the Development Director role at Kier Group. We’re looking for a Development Director to join our Kier Property Team based in London.

Location

London – hybrid working available, with travel to the office and sites required 3 days per week.

Hours

37.5 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Development Director you’ll be working within the Kier Property Team, supporting them in leading developments within the property development sector. Your focus will be on residential development, managing teams in all aspects of the development process with workload likely to be 50% managerial and 50% technical tasks.

Your Day To Day Will Include

  • Lead and manage delivery of approximately GDV 250m.
  • Assist the Sector Head and (MD where appropriate) in the delivery of the BU strategy.
  • Ensure high-performance from individuals and teams through active line management centred on talent development, diversity, and inclusion to deliver the 5-year KP Strategy.
  • Collaborate with the BU MD, Kier Property Board and Sector heads (and JV board where appropriate) on cash management, risk management, profit optimisation, and performance metrics.
  • Manage the project through all phases of development in line with approvals and business plan.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in strategic land acquisition and delivery of large-scale housing development.
  • Ability to work with and negotiate directly with private and public sector clients.
  • Proven ability to analyze business improvement initiatives and offer guidance to the Senior Management Team.
  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) is encouraged but not essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with a clear track record of coaching and developing teams and individuals to reach their full potential and unlocking talent.
