DevOps Engineers play a key role in a fast-paced environment—handling day-to-day tasks like patching and capacity planning while scoping, owning, and delivering impactful projects. This is a Hybrid role based at Barton upon Humber.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve Kubernetes/ArgoCD deployments and GitOps pipelines
  • Ensure observability, resilience, and security across systems and clusters
  • Optimise Helm charts, configs, and cluster resources
  • Drive automation, best practices, and platform security
  • Deliver new services, tooling, and infrastructure projects
  • Support CI/CD workflows and incident/problem management (including out-of-hours)
  • Unix/Linux expertise with Kubernetes (EKS preferred) in production environments
  • Proficient in GitOps (ArgoCD), Helm charts, CI/CD, and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation)
  • Skilled in managing containerised apps and deployment orchestration (e.g., Jenkins)
  • Experience with databases and storage (MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch)
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes security best practices and distributed system troubleshooting
  • Programming/scripting (PHP, Python, JavaScript) with strong communication skills; AWS certification preferred

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Kubernetes, GitOps, Helm, CI/CD, and IaC tools
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and operate cloud-based infrastructure
  • Good understanding of security, monitoring, and incident response in production environments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
