DevOps Engineer (Java / Kubernetes) – public sector client. Design, automate, and optimize cloud-native platforms, working closely with developers and architects to ensure smooth delivery of high-quality applications.

Base pay range

Job Description

  • 6 month contract within the public sector
  • Hybrid working - biweekly onsite in Manchester/Newcastle
  • ??530 per day Inside IR35
  • SC Clearance Eligibility required

What You’ll Do

  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for Java-based applications.
  • Deploy, monitor, and manage services running on Kubernetes (on-prem or cloud).
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
  • Collaborate with software engineers to improve application reliability and scalability.
  • Drive automation initiatives to enhance development and operations workflows.
  • Ensure system security, resilience, and compliance best practices are met.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in DevOps engineering
  • Strong experience working in a Java development environment
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS)
