Overview
The Digital Delivery Manager is responsible for overseeing delivery of the Digital change portfolio of technology projects. This role involves managing delivery of all digital projects, leading delivery relationships with vendors, oversight of the Digital technology budget, as well as management of the IT Digital Change Team.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Digital Trading and Technology to define the digital strategy and how best to achieve it through technology projects and integrations, providing IT delivery guidance and assessment where required.
- Own day-to-day relationship with Buckhill and manage other digital vendor relationships where appropriate. Maintain close collaboration and effective communication to ensure alignment between Buckhill and the Digital change team. Manage contracts and performance to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Implement best working practices and own continuous improvement of the OPAL change delivery process, both internally and with third-party vendors, to ensure an efficient delivery framework that delivers maximum business benefit.
- Lead and manage the Digital Change Team. Ensure the team has clear performance and development goals and the skills for the job. Manage resource allocation on OPAL tasks and projects. Lead recruitment, performance management, mentoring and coaching where appropriate.
- Monitor the progress of digital projects ensuring they have defined scope, objectives, milestones, and deliverables that meet business requirements in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Ensure ongoing alignment with business goals while consulting cross-functional teams on concurrent projects to deliver defined outcomes on time and on budget.
- Manage complex digital projects, ensuring adherence to AEGIS London’s project management framework with the production of high-quality deliverables such as PIDs, Project Plans, Risk & Issues Logs and Project Status Reports.
- Own and manage IT and Projects elements of the Digital Trading budget, working with the Finance team and Change Manager to ensure numbers are agreed and communicated effectively. Demonstrate effective financial management, cost optimisation and optimal resource allocation.
- AEDIS IT Application owner for OPAL Digital Platform. Maintain an excellent relationship with OPAL end users and stakeholders and act as business escalation point.
- Assist the Change Manager with strategic planning contributing to the development of the organisation's project management practices, methodologies, and frameworks. Provide input on project portfolio management, resource allocation, and long-term project objectives.
Skills, Knowledge And Experience
- Substantial experience managing and delivering IT projects/programmes. Experience leading/managing Change/PMO teams is an advantage.
- Proven track record managing successful delivery of Insurance/financial services initiatives.
- Significant experience working in the insurance and/or financial services sector. Experience of Lloyd’s of London syndicates is an advantage.
- Experience managing change team resources i.e. BAs/PMs.
- Experience working in agile delivery environments.
- Experience managing vendor relationships, contracts, and performance to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Knowledge of common insurance technologies especially those utilised by the Lloyd’s Insurance market is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritise deliverables for multiple workstreams.
- Strong organisation and planning skills including project delivery.
- Great communicator, both written and verbal.
