Join to apply for the Digital Development Manager role at XPS Group. This is a permanent, full‑time position with hybrid work options from Edinburgh or Leeds. XPS Group is a UK consulting and administration business specialising in pensions and insurance sectors.

Our Client Communications business is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Digital Product Manager to join our team in either Edinburgh or Leeds with hybrid working. The role is suited to someone with experience in a similar role, knowledge of web technologies, front end design, and Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the digital vision/strategy, roadmap and product lifecycle for two key products (initially): MyPension (member-facing pensions administration portal) and Pensions Admin Manager (employer analytics portal).
  • Create and maintain a clear, prioritised product roadmap with features, improvements and updates for the digital suite.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Digital Engagement, Product Owner and other stakeholders to define requirements, ensure timely development, and enable successful product launches.
  • Co‑pilot with the web-dev IT Product Owner to manage roadmap priorities, implement online requirements, develop user stories, and manage the product backlog.
  • Champion strong user experience design with intuitive navigation, accessibility, and responsive design across devices.
  • Agree release plans with Product Owners, including development rollout and communication.
  • Ensure consistency between digital and core development roadmaps and approaches.
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to define and implement new online requirements for each product.
  • Test online requirements to ensure they meet digital standards as part of a testing group.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations regarding online requirements and the digital roadmap for each product.
  • Demo products and developments to key stakeholders and mitigate delivery risks.
  • Use market research, competitor analysis and analytics to inform product strategy; translate customer needs into product enhancements.
  • Define KPIs to measure product success, monitor performance, and apply data‑driven insights to improve product performance.
  • Line management of digital team members.

Your profile

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager, preferably with client‑facing web portals and/or digital products
  • Strong understanding of web technologies, front end design, and Agile development methodologies
  • Articulate communicator able to interact with developers, business SMEs, senior stakeholders and clients
  • Ability to coordinate and manage product rollout for multiple clients simultaneously
  • Ability to gather customer insights and translate them into product improvements
  • Ability to leverage data and analytics to inform decisions and continuously improve product performance
  • Proactive problem solver with a creative mindset

Desirable

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related field
  • Understanding of UK pensions arrangements and pension products
