Role Introduction / Overview

Enterprise Services and Public Affairs seeks to enhance and protect the reputation of Citi, its businesses and the brand through direct and indirect communication with Citi's various stakeholders, including our colleagues. The Communications team covers a broad scope of responsibilities, ranging from executive communications and public engagements to quarterly earnings and corporate reputation programs as well as communications that support our lines of business. The work provides a dynamic environment where team members serve as company spokespeople to media, drive engagement with colleagues and develop external and internal digital communications for a global workforce of more than 200,000 colleagues. Within Citi, the team works with internal partners, including senior leadership, and coordinates closely with other members of the Enterprise Services and Public Affairs team across the world.

The Digital & Social Media Manager - Vice President is a key member of the Communications team within Enterprise Services and Public Affairs. You will work with senior leadership and partners throughout the Global Communications organization to support reputation management and drive engagement on Citi’s social media and digital channels. The role involves content management and development, process management, measurement and social listening, and collaboration across team functions to support larger communications goals.

What you'll do

  • In partnership with the Head of Digital Content and Social Media, develop and drive Citi’s social media and digital content strategy
  • Work with the team to advance Citi’s core communications goals and objectives across social and digital channels
  • Assist in development of content and/or content strategy to support core social media campaigns across corporate and executive channels
  • Support content management on Citigroup.com, liaising between technology and communications, marketing or business stakeholders to make regular content updates, support core initiatives and execute campaigns on the website
  • Act as a day-to-day lead for reputation management on social media, using social listening tools to identify trends and opportunities relevant to Citi and monitor key issues and conversations
  • Coordinate content scheduling and publishing across corporate social channels using content management tools, partnering with internal stakeholders to identify overlaps and gaps across business units or initiatives
  • Provide guidance and counsel on content distribution
  • Work with stakeholders to create custom web experiences surrounding key events and activations, acting as a strategic counselor and balancing new requests against existing priorities and firmwide initiatives
  • Assist in sourcing and developing creative assets for optimal use and performance across channels, partnering with creative and media teams when needed
  • Support digital and social media elements of live and virtual events in partnership with PR, production and digital teams
  • Use metrics reports and monitoring to continually adapt and improve Citi’s social media and web presence
  • Be knowledgeable about new trends, best practices and opportunities in the social, digital space, identifying white space and opportunities for Citi
  • Be a steward of brand voice, maintaining consistency across business units and activations
  • Partner closely with Communications leadership to inform and advise on ongoing work and areas of opportunity
  • Assess risk when business decisions are made, safeguarding the firm’s reputation by driving compliance with applicable laws and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying ethical judgment, escalating issues with transparency, and supervising the activity of others as needed

What We'll Need From You

  • Knowledge of communications or marketing and significant experience of increased responsibility, preferably with a large and complex organization
  • Extensive knowledge of social media channels and platforms
  • Experience distilling complex subject matter into easily-understood digital content
  • Aptitude for developing and shaping compelling content for internal and external audiences
  • Ability to adapt content across social and digital channels
  • Subject matter expertise in social media platforms and trends
  • Strong grasp in social listening and social media issues management
  • Experience interfacing and collaborating with individuals in technical roles
  • Knowledge and ability to apply fundamentals of Search Engine Optimization and Generative Engine Optimization
  • Familiarity with content management tools such as Sprinklr
  • General understanding and comfort level with AI tools and their application to Communications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A leader who will implement initiatives effectively and proactively drive projects forward
  • Strong communications (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills, including tact, diplomacy, and ability to influence senior executives

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, communications, marketing or another related field
