Director, Process and Controls, Risk Consulting (UKI) at EY. Senior leadership role in risk consulting focused on process and controls, risk management, internal audit and controls transformation. Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Leverage established networks across key sectors to identify, pursue, and convert opportunities, including proposal development, contributing to sales and thought leadership.
  • Engagement Delivery: Lead and own the delivery of Risk Consulting engagements (e.g., risk management, internal audit, UK Corporate Reform, SOX 404, controls transformation), ensuring high-quality outcomes and identifying sell-on opportunities.
  • Agility: Self-starting, balancing sales activity with engagement management.
  • Trusted Advisor: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding on regulations such as UK Corporate Reform, US SOX, Global Internal Audit Standards, and other industry requirements and their impact on internal controls and reporting.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, understand needs, and tailor solutions.
  • Process & Controls Leadership: Lead across process and controls solutions, developing and nurturing talent and fostering a positive team culture.
  • Solution Development: Develop new and enhance existing risk and controls offerings, governance, and policies.
  • Quality & Risk Management: Demonstrate compliance with quality and risk management principles.
  • Business Acumen: Understand broader business contexts including financial, operational, compliance and strategic aspects.
  • Learning & Development: Promote continuous learning and professional development within the team.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal and client teams across risk, IT, compliance, finance and security to drive integrated risk management solutions.
  • Team Mentorship: Mentor and develop Risk professionals, contributing to a positive, growth-focused environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about regulatory changes, technology developments and risk best practices.
  • Performance Excellence: Monitor engagement outcomes and KPIs, addressing deviations to deliver high-quality results.

Skills & Experience

  • Industry Expertise: Leading expertise in risk, processes and controls with agility across solutions and sectors.
  • Business Development: Proven success in identifying and converting opportunities, proposal development and thought leadership.
  • Relationships: Experience building relationships with C-Suite executives and discussing complex risk solutions.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK Corporate Reform and US SOX compliance, guiding clients on regulatory impacts.
  • Communication: Excellent presentation and executive-facing communication skills.
  • Leadership: Ability to inspire, develop and motivate teams and foster collaboration.
  • Ethical Standards: High ethical standards and integrity.

  • Audit & Accounting Experience: Experience in external audit and financial accounting to support strong control frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience leading risk, process and controls services in large, complex organisations.
  • Relevant professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA or equivalent).
  • Substantial delivery experience across risk, process and controls solutions including SOX 404 implementation.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (UK Corporate Reform, SOX, and other industry-specific requirements).
