Funding Circle is seeking an exceptional Director of Product Analytics to join our innovative FlexiPay and Credit Card team. This is a pivotal leadership role where you will build and scale a high-performing analytics function, directly influencing strategic decisions and shaping the future roadmap of our products.

Who we are: Funding Circle backs small businesses to succeed. We believe the world needs small businesses and aim to help them get the finance they need to grow. We pride ourselves on meaningful human support and fast, hassle-free processes to deliver an unbeatable customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop a deep understanding of Funding Circle's customers, product vision, and business strategy. Define and execute how analytics contributes to product and business objectives, embedding data and insights into decisions.
  • Impact & Measurement: Establish KPIs, deliver actionable insights, drive speed and operational excellence, and deliver data products, insights, and tools that create measurable business value.
  • Planning & Reporting: Collaborate with finance, risk, and stakeholders to support strategic planning, budgeting, financial accuracy, and scenario modelling. Ensure data integrity and user adoption within broader analytics frameworks.
  • Organisational Vision: Define the vision and operational excellence of the Product Analytics organisation. Own the analytics roadmap and align with product priorities and organisational objectives.
  • Strategic Insights: Partner with Product and cross-functional leaders to provide insights into user behaviour, product, pricing, performance, and opportunities; guide the team in tackling complex problems.
  • Talent Development: Hire, grow, and inspire analytics talent; coach and unblock the team to maximise impact.
  • Data Champion: Build the analytics narrative, champion experimentation, promote data definition consistency, and ensure data-driven decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Forge strong partnerships across product, engineering, design, risk, sales, marketing, and operations.
  • Culture & Excellence: Foster curiosity, continuous learning, and technical excellence; stay updated on analytics, experimentation, and behavioural science trends.
  • Proactive Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks, issues, or control weaknesses in day-to-day work.

What we're looking for

  • Proven Analytics Leader: Experience building and scaling analytics functions in fast-paced, growing companies (ideally 5+ teams); Fintech/credit-lending experience is preferred.
  • Analytical Acumen: Strong interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills for complex/sensitive situations.
  • Storyteller with Data: Ability to simplify data and articulate compelling stories that drive change.
  • Team Builder & Developer: Track record of leading and growing analytics teams and enabling cross-functional partnership.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on data manipulation and analysis with SQL, Python (or R), and AWS; ability to coach others.
  • Collaborative Project Ownership: Co-owning team-wide projects with OKRs and KPIs to deliver tangible impact.
  • Advanced Analytics: Experience applying AI/ML techniques and building predictive models for insights.

At Funding Circle we are committed to building diverse teams, so please apply even if your past experience doesn't align perfectly with the requirements.
