An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to undertake the role of Duties Administrator.
Applications are invited from candidates seeking an introduction to working for Essex Police for an excellent opportunity. Neurodivergent candidates can often excel in the role.
The Resource Management Unit is responsible for providing the efficient and effective publication of duties for all officers and police staff using computerised systems; identifying resource and skills shortages.
The successful candidates will be required to maintain and update computer databases related to Duty Planning, including duty scheduling, substitutions, work schedule changes, medical appointments, and leave management to maximize resources and provide accurate management information.
They will operate the SAP system to resolve queries regarding duties, flexi balances, time statements, absences, and work schedules, and report discrepancies to the Resource Manager to ensure efficient resolution and record accuracy. They will also maintain knowledge of police regulations, conditions of service, and policies to advise officers and staff and ensure SAP's effectiveness.
The successful candidate will record court commitments, manage duty changes, and ensure adequate coverage. They will also collate and maintain on-call rotas, disseminate details, and update them promptly to support force performance.
Successful candidates will be classified as 'home-based agile workers', working mainly from home and occasionally in the office.
The role typically involves office hours Monday to Friday, with participation in a late and weekend rota once every 14 weeks, compensated at an enhanced rate for unsociable hours.
You will assist Resource Managers by providing management information and statistics related to staffing, absences, overtime, and other operational metrics to support decision-making.
The application must demonstrate experience in analysis and decision-making, adaptability, service delivery, teamwork, and leadership.
All posts require vetting and security clearance, with forms to be completed during recruitment.
