NEOS Engineering are partnered with a leading engineering consultancy delivering complex power and utilities projects across the UK. They’re looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing design team, working on projects ranging from LV up to 33kV.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and specify electrical installations from LV to 33kV systems.
  • Carry out load calculations, fault level assessments, and protection coordination studies.
  • Ensure all designs and on‑site works comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications for electrical equipment and installations.
  • Clearly communicate design concepts through meetings, documentation, and technical drawings.
  • Act as the technical representative in client and contractor meetings.
  • Conduct site surveys, inspections, and provide on‑site support to maintain project quality.
  • Manage project deliverables, keeping a close eye on budgets and cost control.
  • Produce detailed reports and maintain accurate design records.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

Requirements:

  • HND/HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering (degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical design engineering.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and electrical modelling software (Amtech, ETAP, PowerFactory, etc.).
  • Familiar with current electrical standards and best practices.
  • Strong technical writing and reporting ability.
  • Basic proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • IET registration or working towards professional registration.
  • Experience working within utilities, energy connections, or similar sectors.
  • Self‑motivated, organised, and capable of managing your workload independently.
