Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join a growing team within the renewable energy sector, overseeing the delivery of commercial and industrial Solar PV projects across multiple UK sites. This office-based role, with occasional site visits, is ideal for a technically strong and organised individual who can lead project delivery from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple Solar PV projects from planning and procurement through to commissioning and client handover
  • Oversee electrical design coordination, project scheduling, and contractor management
  • Work closely with in-house engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to technical specifications
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety compliance, and quality assurance
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular reporting to senior management and clients
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, CDM requirements, and renewable energy standards
  • Manage procurement of materials and liaise with DNOs, grid operators, and specialist suppliers
  • Support commissioning processes and oversee final documentation, including O&M manuals and handover packs

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager on solar PV or related renewable energy projects
  • Strong electrical background - ideally time-served or qualified electrician/engineer
  • Excellent understanding of AC/DC systems, inverters, mounting systems, and electrical installation standards
  • Strong project management, budgeting, and scheduling skills
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and communicate effectively
  • Full UK driving licence - occasional site visits required
  • Strong IT and reporting skills - MS Project, Excel, etc.

Desirable

  • Electrical qualifications (e.g., 18th Edition, City & Guilds, HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering)
  • SMSTS or SSSTS
  • Experience with battery storage or EV infrastructure
  • Knowledge of DNO/G99 processes
  • Experience working with frameworks or large-scale clients
