Are you ready to take your skills to the next level with Cadent? We’re looking for a dedicated Electrician to join our Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) team within the Energy Operations directorate. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, modifying, and repairing E&I systems across our gas transportation assets, ensuring safe and efficient operations across the network.
Location Requirement: To support our operational needs, we are specifically looking for candidates in areas such as Hitchin, Chelmsford, Bedfordshire, Luton or Norwich. Regular travel is part of the role, so a Full UK Driving Licence is essential.

- Asset Health – Assess and report on the condition of E&I equipment and systems.
- Maintenance & Repairs – Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure system reliability.
- Timely Delivery – Complete work efficiently and in line with statutory requirements.
- Standby Support – Participate in the E&I standby rota to maintain service continuity.
- Contractor Oversight – Supervise third-party work to ensure safety and quality standards.
- Team Collaboration – Work closely with colleagues across Cadent to support operational excellence.
What you'll get to work on:
You’re a skilled electrician with a strong background in electrical systems and a commitment to safety and quality.
- Experience – Proven experience in Electrical, including electrical inspection testing.
- Technical Knowledge – Familiarity with E&I technical standards, maintenance procedures, and relevant codes of practice.
- Legislation Awareness – Understanding of BS7671, EAWR, and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Qualifications –
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- City & Guilds 2394/95 or equivalent i.e. 2391 Level 3 testing and inspection
- Approved apprenticeship
- Certifications – COMPEX EX01–04 preferred but not essential.
- Team Player – Able to work independently and collaboratively with a proactive approach.
