Job Description

Redline Group has recently been engaged by a leading engineering company based in Manchester. Due to recent project wins, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Electronic Design Engineer to join their dynamic design team. The culture is very collaborative, where engineers work together to solve engineering problems and find the best solutions. They are looking for like-minded engineers who can add value to the team.

The company currently operates a hybrid working arrangement: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote, with everyone in on Wednesdays. They design and manufacture electronic sensors and components for the global automation market. They seek an Electronic Design Engineer with strong analogue design skills and some firmware development experience using embedded C or C++.

Key responsibilities of the Electronic Design Engineer include:

  1. Design and development of barriers for connection between intrinsically safe and non-intrinsically safe circuits
  2. Circuit design, prototyping, verification, and testing
  3. Specification of design components and creation of circuit schematics in CAD
  4. Creation of Intrinsic Safety and EMC plans to meet relevant standards
  5. Verification testing of prototypes and review of PCB layouts

Key skills required:

Additional advantageous knowledge includes process control automation, instrumentation, or relevant legislation such as ATEX, Low Voltage, and EMC directives. The role is ideal for someone passionate about analogue electronics and with a solid understanding of fundamental electronic design principles.
