Employee Relations, Governance & Compliance Manager
London - 3 days a week in office
Middlemore are currently working with a mid-sized, international financial services firm to hire an Employee Relations, HR Governance & Compliance Manager. This is a newly created role, reporting to the HR Director, taking ownership of complex employee relations activity, whilst also leading HR's regulatory, compliance, policy and people risk governance agenda.
You will be the Employee Relations and HR compliance subject matter expert across the EMEA region, providing high-level advisory support on complex employee matters while ensuring policies and practices align with both regulatory expectations and evolving employment legislation. You’ll lead investigations, drive HR governance frameworks, manage SMCR/GDPR compliance, and collaborate closely with legal, compliance, and risk teams.
Suitable candidates will have deep expertise in UK employment law and HR compliance with a proven background in ER case management and investigations. You will be CIPD-qualified or legally trained in employment law and have experience in financial services or a similarly regulated environment. Associate/Senior Associate employment lawyers from private practice looking to move in-house will also be considered.
This is a high-impact position in a regulated, international banking environment, working closely with C-suite HR leadership and offering the opportunity to shape governance frameworks and manage regulatory change.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in UK employment law and HR compliance.
- Proven background in ER case management and investigations.
- CIPD-qualified or legally trained in employment law.
- Experience in financial services or a similarly regulated environment.
- Open to Associate/Senior Associate employment lawyers moving in-house.
